Introducing A New Contributor

It is always a joy when we are able to add more members to our team here at Everyday Theology, and we cannot be more excited about this new addition! At Everyday Theology, we believe in keeping our theology devoted to Christian orthodoxy through the lens of the Free Will Baptist tradition. In doing so, we are excited to announce Rev. Matthew Honeycutt as our newest member of the Everyday Theology team!

Originally from Middle Tennessee, Matt is married to Lee Ann and together they have three children, Aaron, Sarah, and Ryan. Matt is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served 8 years (including a tour in the Middle East during Operation Enduring Freedom, post 9/11). After enlistment, Matt enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in business.

After college, Matt began working for Vulcan Materials Company when he began to feel the Lord calling him to vocational ministry. In January 2012, Matt answered the call to ministry and was later ordained a Free Will Baptist minister.

After a few years of pastoral ministry Matt felt the need to further his education so that he could better serve the church. In 2016, Matt enrolled in graduate studies at Welch College. After 3 years, Matt earned his master’s degree in theology and ministry.

Since April 2013, Matt has served three Free Will Baptist churches. He is currently the pastor of Harper Road Free Will Baptist where he serves full time. Matt loves theology and discussing it with anyone who will listen.

In his free time, Matt enjoys being with his family, watching classic western movies, kayaking, and fishing, and is a huge WWII buff.
